💬 Discussions in SAP Analytics Cloud

The Discussion feature lets you collaborate directly inside SAC without needing to leave the platform.

How to Create a Discussion:

  1. Select the Collaboration icon (chat bubble).

  2. Choose one or more users to include.

  3. Start a conversation using the text field.

  4. Use the “+” icon to:

    • Attach files

    • Link other SAC stories or pages

🔁 Features:

  • Supports attachments and links.

  • Facilitates real-time collaboration.

  • Keeps communication centralized and contextual.


🗨️ Comments in Stories

You can add comments to elements in a story for feedback, clarification, or tagging team members.

Where You Can Comment:

  • Entire Story Page

  • Individual Widgets (e.g., charts, tables)

  • Specific Data Points in a table

🛠️ How to Comment:

  1. Select the object (e.g., chart or cell).

  2. Click the Comment icon.

  3. Enter your comment (you can tag users using @username).

📏 Character Limits:

  • Story/Table/Page/Widget: Up to 10,000 characters

  • Dimension comments: Up to 255 characters

📂 Other Capabilities:

  • Comments are tracked in history (audit trail).

  • Can be exported with the story (for documentation or review).


🧠 Best Practices:

  • Use @mentions to notify specific team members.

  • Keep discussions focused by linking to relevant pages/stories.

  • Use comments for collaborative reviews or planning discussions.
