SAP Analytics Cloud includes AI-driven features that enhance decision-making and streamline data analysis. Two main components are:

1. Smart Predict

Smart Predict uses machine learning to generate future predictions based on historical data.

✅ Key Capabilities:

  • Automatically detects patterns, trends, cycles, and fluctuations.

  • Creates predictive models like classification, regression, and time series forecasting.

📌 Supported Data Sources:

  • Acquired data: Supported for datasets and planning models (not for analytic models).

  • Live data: Only supported for SAP HANA on-premise.

🔍 Use Smart Predict for:

  • Sales forecasting

  • Customer churn prediction

  • Inventory level predictions

  • Planning future business performance


2. Just Ask (Natural Language Query - NLQ)

Just Ask allows users to interact with data using plain English questions — no coding or complex filtering needed.

🚀 Key Features:

  • Ask questions like:

    • "Sales by region"

    • "Top 3 products by revenue in 2024"

    • "Gross margin for this quarter"

  • Instantly returns charts or tables based on your question.

  • Use auto-complete suggestions and keywords to help form queries.

📋 Steps to Use Just Ask:

  1. Open Just Ask from the Home page or menu bar.

  2. Select a model to query using the dropdown list.

  3. Use “+ Add to Search” to help build your question using model fields.

  4. Type your question in U.S. English and click Search.

  5. View results as visualizations or tables.

  6. Use action icons to:

    • Switch between chart/table

    • Open in Data Analyzer

    • Copy to a story page

    • Export data (CSV/Excel)

    • Sort, drill, or rank results

💡 Tips:

  • If a model is not listed, request indexing through “Create a model request to an admin”.

  • Use the Suggestions section for AI-generated query ideas based on your model.
